A trip to Bali for me, is never complete without some serious retail therapy.  This trip would see me sans kids, so I had plenty of time to browse at my leisure.  Of course I also love to do just nothing but relax... preferably with a cold drink close by.

Bali is a shopper's paradise.....

Each trip I love to find new & interesting items for my home, stock up on old favourites like facial products & search for some nice pieces of clothing.  (I must admit that I fall into the trap of buying some market clothing & wearing it while in Bali, but then not wearing it much when I arrive home!)

Here's some photos of the items I bought this year on my girls trip to Legian.

I have started with some ornaments, home wares & gifts purchased from Geneva Handicrafts, Krisna, Matahari's in Kuta & Miss Debbie's fixed price market stall.

Following will be clothing - please excuse my lack of use with an iron - everything has been thrown on a coach in my computer room, awaiting my shopping blog.... haven't had the chance to wear much of it either being winter!

The shell bowl with coconut shell pieces on the bottom looks great on my bathroom vanity & the purple shell trinket box is velvet lined.  I purchased one last year in a little shop along Jl Legian and paid about 4 times as much!

These mobiles were purchased from Miss Debbie's fixed price market shop in Legian.

Tin & mirror elephant mobile and shell & mirror mobile 40,000 each

I was wondering where to hang them & at first had them inside the house.  Then I decided to hang them in my frangipani tree in my back yard.  They make a lovely relaxing sound in the breeze & the mirrors reflect onto my deck.

Just be careful when you fill them.... we had beans everywhere!

On my list of shops to check out was Silverberry.  I found this lovely Buddha pendant & some dragonfly earrings.  (I have put the earrings in my Pandora box just for the photo).  The pendant looks great on my silver Pandora necklace.  The black cord necklace in the photo was purchased from another shop.

Near the end of my trip I found this matching dragonfly pendant.  It was from a shop in Jl Werkudara.  Can't remember exactly what I paid but think it was around same price as my other pendant - 320,000.  I saw the same earrings that I'd bought at Silverberry & they were the same price.  In fact, this shop had most of the items I saw in Silverberry, it just wasn't set out as nice.

The following are some photos of jewellery I purchased in Sanur on my trip last October.  The shop was on the beach side of Jl Danau Tamblingan.  'Grammes Jewelry' is written on the box, so that is probably the name of the shop.  Hardy's was a few minutes walk from memory on the other side of the road.

I'm having trouble remembering the exact price I paid for each item.  However I do remember the more items you purchased, the more discount you were given.  The pendants look great on my Pandora necklace.

These were the only shoes I purchased on my trip.  Sure I did see plenty of others, but most I tried on in the market type shops I felt were a little uncomfortable.  The pair I bought were so comfortable.  They are made of a very soft suede, a bit darker in colour than shown in the photo.  I bought them from a shop in Jl Werkudara.  The size on the shelf didn't fit perfectly, so they suggested to have a pair made.  From memory they were about 250,000 rp.

The suede clutch was purchased from Merry's Leather.  It's the perfect size to hold money, keys, phone & lip gloss.  If my memory serves me right I think I paid about 200k.  I do remember procrastinating whether to buy it or not & when a friend was buying one, she convinced me to do so.  Now I just love it!

These are 2 of my favourite items of clothing purchased on the trip.  I'd spotted the following dress hanging in the window of a shop along Jl Raya Seminyak as I whizzed by in a taxi one day.  The next time I was shopping & walked past the shop, it was closed.  So on the last day I was determined to find the shop & try the dress on.  I couldn't even remember where the shop was - I just knew which side of the street it was on.

Finally I found it after walking for ages.  From memory the shop is called Beyond.   It's on the opposite side to the Bintang Supermarket and Cafe Mocha was walking distance further north.

The dresses can be worn 3 different ways & the fabric is a little sheer so I also purchased a skirt slip to wear underneath.

Dress 350K

The shop assistant called this a top but it's more like a dress on me!  It can also be worn 3 different ways.  I also purchased some knee length pants with ties on the side to go with them.  They are made of a very soft sheer fabric & just so comfortable.  Last week we finally had some really warm weather & I was able to wear this outfit - I got quite a few compliments too!

The following clothing was purchased from a surf outlet store around the corner from Bali Mall Galleria.  Downstairs had Roxy & Quiksilver gear & upstairs were other surf brands like Volcom etc.  The Roxy clothing was 75% off the ticketed price, which made it really quite cheap.  If it hadn't of been discounted it was approx same price as back home.

I found the Bamboo Blonde red dress on sale upstairs at this outlet.  There are also a few Bamboo Blonde stores along Jl Legian.

This black dress was purchased from a shop on Jl Werkudara.  Can't remember the name, but it was not too far back from the Rusty shop on the corner of Jl Werkudara & Jl Legian.

Black strapless short dress 110k

This dress was purchased from a shop called Double R in Jl Werkudara.  I really love the bead work on the bodice & the tassel ties, however, now I have it home, I don't think the colour really suits me!  Should of tried it on, but I remember that day I was too hot & bothered to do so....

Dress with beading & tassels 220k

The following items were from the Rip Curl factory outlet on the Ngurah Rai By Pass.  In the past I've found these outlets to be a bit hit & miss.  This time I found heaps of items that I loved and that were really cheap.  Can't remember exact prices of the tees as they cut off the price tags, however from memory they were around 110k - 140k each.  The cami & beach bag were on some bargain racks out the front & were 50k each.

The following 3 dresses were purchased from Krisna Oleh-Oleh on Jl Sunset.  They were really cheap.  These sort of dresses can be found in shops & market stalls in Kuta & Legian, however they are considerably cheaper at Krisna.

At dinner one night I noticed one of the girls had used her scarf to drape around her shoulders.  It looked really lovely and I just assumed she had brought it from home.  When I asked her where she bought it from I was surprised to hear it was from Bintang Supermarket.  She had bought quite a few in different colours.

Unfortunately when I went there the next day there were only green ones left.

Well, that's the end of my shopping blog.  Now I'm looking forward to some warmer weather so I can wear my new clothes!
